Clark: What'd you do with Knox?

MM: Your father and l
had a ''don't ask, don't tell'' policy... (There were no questions involved?) when it came to crime
and punishment. l suggest we abide by the same rules.

Without more context it's hard to tell more that that MM doesn't want to explain what happened to Knox.
