Hi:-)
COOK IT
September means back to school and the question of what to pack for school lunch. Ideally, the meal should be a combination of good-tasting and healthy food, but for most kids the best lunches consist of sodium-rich prepackaged snacks and sugary treats. Vegetables and fruit go uneaten. Avoid the allure of the unhealthy by sneaking nutritious elements into your recipes. Compromise on the dessert by baking treats with tasty whole grains. Whole wheat muffins, scones and cookies not only taste good, they also add a kick of fiber.
What's the meaning of "kick" in the context above?
Does it mean "dose"?
In my opinion, "dose" is related to "medicine". I don't think it's appropriate to say " a dose of fiber".
What do you think?
