I'm curious to hear opinions from around the globe regarding the topic of drug prohibition.  Laws regulating drug use obviously vary from country to country, but generally speaking the recreational use of popular drugs such as cannabis, cocaine, opiates, LSD, PCP, methamphetamines, and psychedelic mushrooms seem to be banned in most countries.  So, my question is to what extent do you think that recreational drug use should or shouldn't be regulated?  Do you think your government should be more lax when it comes to drug laws?  Do you think it should be stricter?  Do you think that certain recreational drugs ought to be legalized, while others aren't?  Do you think all drugs should be legal, but regulated as an industry?  Do you think that other drugs such as ethanol (alcohol) and nicotine (tobacco) ought to be prohibited?  In short, what are your thoughts?

Hm, an interesting turn. While reading, I was going to say that I am for as strict regulation as possible, even for recreational drugs. But when I read till ethanol and nicotine... I don't know what about nicotine, but alcohol is a healthful thing if to use it in pretty small doses (even a snake's poison is useful in that case). So I don't think it should be banned. Tobacco leads some people to death, but others do live long despite they smoke rather a lot. Well, it's a controversial subject... Big Smile [:D] But even if nicotine should be prohibited, I doubt it will ever happen beacuse there are too much money involved around this business.
