Hi there,

I want to improve my pronunciation on d's and t's in the end of a word such as hat, had, and head.
Does anybody have an activity for me to help me improve my d's and t's?

Vince..

P.S. please correct any mistakes found in my posts...

Word-final <t> is slightly aspirated in English, but in some languages it is unaspirated and sounds like <d>. To practice aspiration, say the word "team", "tin", "tan" slowly, as slowly as you can, and focus on the initial <t> sound. Notice how a slight flow of air is released after you let the <t> go. That's aspiration. Now try it word-finally with ha<t>, ba<t>, me<t>, and so on.

All the best,
