Your opinion waould be very helpful. Do you enjoy listening to an East Indian accent? I live in Canada and I am having trouble understanding people with an East Indian accent and I am not sure if I am the only one.

I think it is like anything else. THe more you hear it, the better you understand it. There have been some people I have spoken with and some do have a stronger accent. But I am sure there are cases where they are unable to understand us as much as we can not understand them. But I have found in most cases, they will work very hard to help us understand what they are saying.

Guest (above). . . yes East Indian = Indians from India. The reason it's called East Indian is because we are not Asians (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc.) and not Native Americans; also called Indians.
Being East Indian but born in the US, I find any accent thats hard to understand a bit annoying but it's true most foreigners try to be as fluent as possible.

Well I have that, east indian accent. I'm quiet anxious to improve it. First I have to try to speak slowly. And speak often ![Wink [;)]](/emoticons/emotion-5.gif)
