Hello,

I looked  up  the word "else" and "otherwise" in my dictionary(Oxford advanced learner) and found  only one entry  that defines it as an adverb.

But many times , I have seen it is also used as a conjuction.

Are "else" and "otherwise"  adverbs only or both adverbs and conjunctions?

You are right. "Otherwise" and "or else" work as a kind of conjunction, though they are classed as adverbs.

(EX) Leave home by 6:00 AM, otherwise you will miss the train.
