Hi, this is my rant.
I have been studying English for several years. Come to think of it, I've devoted too much time to English despite the need for advancing my other skills as an engineer. English is addictive.

It may be an issue of my poor time management but the total amount of time we non-native speakers have spent would be beyond all imagination. If all these energies had been diverted to resolve other difficulties, there were no problems on the earth.

I am little tired. I was reading English on the net almost all day.

Are there anybody who is skipping their job and indulging in English study?  Smile [:)]

Wow, thank you for all the replies!

Chaobo, it's great. You're exercising your English skills for your current job. It must be a situation that urges most to acquire it.

Asreddy, I wasn't able to write such good English at 16th month from start. I think you are going the best way.

Robyn, thank you for the correction. I always thirst for that. But my longer writing may get out of hand.

I understand the importance of English just in general. Fortunately,-unfortunately?-, my job doesn't need English skills so far. It is intended as an advance preparation, so to speak, acutally it's my pastime now.

My addiction to mere a pastime has slightly become a burden, considering that I have to study more other subjects for my work such as software.

I suppose this is an envious dilemma and a common dilemma. I have to strike a balance. Smile [:)]

My advice is practise and pay attention to corrections people make for you.
It can take us more time to correct than it took you to write in the first place, so take the time to study corrections and learn from your mistakes.

thanks in advance ...

I admire anyone who takes on learning another language.
Keep up the good work
.

Hello to all
ASREDDYgaro, in sixteen months you have learnt well .But I think there is no shortcut, put your full effort that will definitely work. For developing your writting skill you could give more importance to the grammer and spellings. You can always keep an Oxford mini dicionary and consult it for spellings
Chaobo you are correct . English has become an essential part of our life.Once one of our teacher told us that dollar speaks every where At that moment I could not realise his words but now I think I have understood.
Akio, I think you are correct . Languages sometimes become an addiction or passion .There is no end of improving .Sometimes it affects my work also, although I feel my English is not improving to that extent.

Thinking about why we learn English?

I have been studying it since my first year in the middle school, and think what I have got? Still get stuck now, poor performance in my oral and written English, how frustrated, so bad!!!

It is not easy, in fact, a paintaking work!!! I have to say my English study went to the wrong place at the first time.

Old-fashioned teaching system, only emphasizing on  Grammer Study and Vocabulary memory, and coping with endless quizs and exams. The purpose was to pass exams and get high scores. In other word, I'm complete victim of examination-oriented education. So was my English Study.

After my graduaction from College, I've found that I was confronted with a more chanllaging world, then, how important and critical your sophisticated language skill could be in practice.

So I decide to get rid of all trash I have got during my 10 years Study in learning English, three year in the middle school, three years in the high school and another four years in College. Now I am a new English learner, more enthusiastic and more diligent, I learn it not only because I need to be acquaintance with it but also l love to learn it.

So jojo, come on, there will be a dear!!Big Smile [:D]
