I don’t know whether these sentences conform to the usage of English. 
 If you find something wrong in Grammar and semantics,

I need to pursue a master’s degree in Applied Linguistics

I want to apply for admission into your master degree in Applied Linguistics.

This is my take:

I need to pursue a master’s degree in Applied Linguistics - ok, but I think [want] is a more suitable verb because [need] offers a hint which sounds less of your idea.

I want to apply for your master degree [program] in Applied Linguistics.
