Hello Everyone!

I just got to this site and thought it would be good to say hi to you all and introduce a bit =)
My name's Monika, I'm 16 years old gal from Tuchola (northern Poland). My town has about 14000 inhabitants only but it's situated in the centre of Bory Tucholskie (The name means FOREST OF TUCHOLA. The forest are of about 1170 square km area and grow on a big outwash. Pine-trees are predominating there. Within the Bory Tucholskie there are numerous picturesque lakes, the main rivers are Brda and Wda (weird names, huh ?). The inhabitants belong to the Polish dialectal groups of Kashubians, Borowiaks and Kociewiaks.

I'm interested mostly in languages, pen palling, history of The Middle Ages, music.. such stuff
I hope to stay here for a long time he he

thanks for reading all this rambling and have a great day!

Hello Monika,

So glad to meet another new friend on Internet.

I'm Deepblue, from Shanghai, the biggest city in China.

I just live in the "forest of concrete", so I'm so envy that you can live in such a wonderful environment.

Keep in touch! Smile [:)]

Hi Monika. The Polish and Hungarians are good friends. They have always been.Smile [:)]

Hi Monika,
Welcome to the forum.
I think you'll fit in quite well with us here. Most of us have an interest in Languages, ok normally English but there are many other languages floating around here.
I remember another discussion we had somewhere in this forum about the middle ages. I also like the Middle ages since as long as I can remember. Is there a lot of Medieval history in your region? The place where you live sounds so nice, I love forests and lakes and nature in general.
Also there are number of regulars here that like all types of music and some even play it (or try to). What type of music do you like?
Great photos of you.
What does Alveaenerle mean? Is it a surname?

Hello Deepblue =) Shanghai....wow! I'm amazed, I love China.A year ago there was a school project and some students came to my school, from USA,Brasil, Ukraine and ...ChinaSmile [:)]
The Chinese girl was named Nicole and I really enjoyed speaking with her. She even gave me some Chinese coins lol and that red bags which small kids get with money inSmile [:)]

Pieter - so you're a Hungarian, right ? That's nice, I like your country - I've been there twice =)
I've seen your pics in the photo section, they were greatSmile [:)] I need to read the whole forum now so I'll get some more info about you all heheh =)

Woodward - hey, I find it great that you like the Middle Ages. I am keen on it. I have a medieval dress and go on some parties where people like me meet.. below you have a pic of me in my dressSmile [:)] it's based on clothing from year circa 1370. Only escoffion (that red hut hehe ) is a bit older. And Alveaenerle...nah, it's not surname, it's just a name of one book character I liked.
The book was by Andrzej Sapkowski, a great Polish author of fantasy books, the title is "Wiedzmin". That's a shame but there's no English translation of it. but by the way my surname is a bit twisted as well - Kazimierczak. lol heheWink [;)]

greets
Monika

A Chinese girl called Nicole. Yep. I used to go out with a Japanese girl called Nicole. He used to complain about her husband. Tom. An actor or a comedian, I'm not sure.

Hi Alveaenerle,

Your dress seems to be very beautiful, and this is the first time I see such a foreign traditional dress.

The red bag, I think it's called "HeBao" in Chinese. Am I right?

Smile [:)]

Pieter, you sounded a bit ironic ..."actor or comedian" heheeWink [;)]

Deepblue, I have no idea!Smile [:)] maybe you're right, I know only the name "escoffion"Smile [:)]
nice to year you like the dressSmile [:)]

Hi Monika.
I was seeing the Tuchola page, it looks nice city, beautiful buildings and if sorrounded by forest, that's great. I'll search for more info about Poland. Ah, fantastic "escoffion"!

I've been in Poland many times. In the 80's . Superb country- Krakow, The Tatra etc. We were selling Romanian brandy at the market in Zakopane. And buying fur from there which then we sold here in Romania. Good old socialism.

hello Monika!
(your name reminds me of my friend MoniCa!)
thank you so much for providing such a useful information ...i have been planning to visit all the beautiful places on the earth once before i die! thanks for making me add TUCHOLA city in my hit list!!!
i will surely visit someday!
cheers!

Hi Monika!

Greetings from Russia.

This is a beautiful place that you live in, and, though it is rather small, you definitely know what to do not to get bored.

I must admit I was amazed to see how much Polish language resembles Russian. I understood texts on your site, not all words, of course, but general meaning was clear. Ja dumajy, i ty tozhe ponimaesh eti slova, hotya eto po-russkiWink [;)]
