Dear teachers,
Would you please have a look at my exercise?
Complete the following conversation using the correct tense.
KIM : This is the first time I have eaten / I am eating (eat) snails.
YOU : I hate them ! I ate (eat) snail for the first and last time when we went (go) to a very expensive restaurant for my 12th birthday. I was (be) so sick that I had to go (modal + go) to the hospital! (TO HOSPITAL ?)
KIM : What about frog's legs ? Have you ever had (ever / have) any ?
YOU : Oh yes ! I love them. Mum cooked (cook) some last week.
KIM : I have always wanted (always / want) to taste them!
Many thanks,
Hela

I don't know quite what you wanted us to do with this, Hela. I have made the layout for choice-making more consistent:
KIM : This is the first time I have eaten / I am eating snails.
YOU : I hate them ! I ate / have eaten snail for the first and last time when we went /were going to a very expensive restaurant for my 12th birthday. I was /had been so sick that I had to go / have to have gone to the hospital!
KIM : What about frog's legs ? Have you ever had / have any ?
YOU : Oh yes ! I love them. Mum cooked / has cooked some last week.
KIM : I have always wanted / want to taste them!

Good morning everyone,
Sorry, it is seems that my question was not very clear. I hoped that a teacher could correct my choice of tenses in this exercise. The problem with this page is that there is no possibility to underline, use italics, bold face or any colour to highlight the key words; would it be possible to do something about it?
1) I know that we can say "It's the first time I have eaten snails; but can we also say "It's the first time I AM EATING snails"?
2) What about my choice of all the other tensed verbs?
3) Should we say here "had to go to THE hospital" or "had to go to hospital"?
A thousand thanks.
