Expressing a wish...and negation

Hi!

I am supposed to use the past perfect after "wish", such as "I wish I had known the truth".

But how do I deal with negation in this case? Example: "I wish (have to, not) work today"

Is it ok to write "I wish I hadn't had to work today"?

Thank you

When you use "had + past participle", you make the wish in retrospect, like in the evening, thinking about the day you've just had. If you say "I wish I didn't have to work today", you'll be more likely to make that wish in the morning, thinking about the day ahead.

But your sentence is correct, as it corresponds to your model.
