Hi

Would you say that the following expression is natural and correct?

I am a big family

The above sentence was spoken by a friend to his friend.

Hi Tom

That sentence isn't particularly logical to me.  How can a "big family" consist of only one person?  Did you leave out a word perhaps?

I am from a big family. (?)

Hi Amy
1. If my parents are I are the only members of the family, do I say "There are two people in my family" or "There are three people in my family"?
2. If I write a composition on "My Family", do I have to include myself in the composition? In other words, should I describe my parents only?

Thanks in advance.

There are three people in my family. However, when I write a composition on "My Family",  I can exclude myself. Could you please let me know why this is so?

Thanks in advance.

Arithmetic has nothing to do with choices. You may express modesty by not including yourself  in the essay, etc.

However, if the teacher marking the composition thinks you should include yourself, then the pupil will lose marks for not including himself.

There are many ifs and buts in life. If you're lost at an intersection, you ask someone around there.

Same here, ask the teacher in advance.
