Help on expression "pigeon hole"!!!

Hi everyone, i'm new to this forum and this's the first time that post a message....

I saw a sentence over the net today, which is "You make it hard for people to pigeon hole you!" I don't know what "pigeon hold" means here and, i tried searching over the net for the detailed explanation on this expression, but nothing i got.

So i post it here and wish you guys can give me any help... Thx in advance...

to pigeon-hole sb = to decide that sb belongs to a particular group or type without thinking deeply enough about it and considering what other qualities they might have
