Hi, I am not sure if the following phrase (highlighted in blue) is correct:

"The manager must monitor the extra expenses and savings for each phase of the project".

...The idea being that he must control if he is over or under the budget for each phase. Is the blue phrase correct? Or are there any better solutions?

Thanx so much in advance,

Stefan

How about "any extra expenses or savings" -- it's not a certain thing that there will be any at all.

It's OK, but more natural is

"The manager must monitor the budget for each phase of the project".

Or you could just speak of 'the costs', which would easily be understood to mean both extra costs and cost-savings.
