Hi

How do you (as a native speaker) find this conversation?

Was it a false rumour?

No, it was true. ”

Thanks,

Tom

Did you worry that it was redundant to say "false rumor"? A rumor can be true or false.

How do you mean, GG? If a rumour can be true or false then how is it redundant to say it's false?

I was asking Mr. Tom if his concern over the naturalness of the line was over the idea of a "false rumor." I agree with you that it's a very natural sounding thing to say.
