Tell me,
when you hit the "FF" button on your video player, while watching the film,
what do you say?
the images file past ? reel past?
not flick past, because there's no sound
I'd like to have suggestions... Thanks!

I found reel past. I'm not sure about swirl past, but..?
Sorry, I really don't know

how about flicker by (or past, but Ithink I would tend to use "by"), or, if you want more sense of speed, zoom by or speed by.
By the way, I don't understand why you think "flick" implies sound.

The images race past.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!
