Hi Teachers

I'd like to know what the difference between feel/any verb + (subjective pronoun) and feel/any verb + (objective pronoun) is:

E.g:  I feel he is telling me  VS  I feel him telling me

Thank you

I feel (that) he is telling me the truth.  =  I believe (that) he is telling me the truth.

I feel him telling me ...  = ???  No meaning.  You can't literally feel the act of telling.

I feel him slapping my back.  =  I feel (literally, through the sense of touch) that he is slapping my back.

Does that help?

ok, so when we can literally (physically) feel it, objective pronoun will be appropriate

And how about this: I heard him saying / coming  VS   I heard he is saying / coming

Thanks

You are literally hearing these things as sounds, so use the form with -ing.

I heard him saying that he would be late.

I heard him coming into the room.

But if you heard the news that he said something or that he came into the room:

I heard that he said that he would be late.

I heard that he was coming into the room.
