In a sentence, do you say "A 5,000 square feet facility" or "A 5,000 square foot facility"?

My personal usage:

My apartment has 1177 square feet  ~ I have an 1177 square-foot apartment.

My son is 6 feet tall ~ I have a six-foot tall son.
