Group A

  1. Germany
  2. Ecuador

Group B

  1. Sweden
  2. Paraguay

Group C

  1. Argentina
  2. Netherlands

Group D

  1. Mexico
  2. Portugal

Group E

  1. Italy
  2. Czech Rep.

Group F

  1. Brazil
  2. Australia

Group G

  1. France
  2. Switzerland

Group H

  1. Ukraine
  2. Spain

I think Brazil, Argentina and Italy will go no further than half way.  Ukraine, Germany, and Spain will be hard to defeat.  Australia and Czech Rep. will surprise and one of the two may go as far as the semis...

Uh, forgot to mention England… rubbish!

Well their ancestors may have been, but they call Australia their home now, and they play for the Australia team. If that doen't make 'em Aussies I don't know what does. Tattoos across their foreheads, perhaps?

I would like to question everyone's standing on group G. Everyone has announced France going through, with either Switzerland or Korea coming in second, depending on who you ask. I think that there is a strong possibility that Korea and Switzerland both go through over France, as Switzerland already showed there powers over France in the qualifying round, and Korea has recently been beating teams that you reckon are going to reach the quarters and semis.

I completely agree!
I think France is far too overrated as the winner of pool G. What's wrong with Switzerland and Korea?
I think we will see a great performance. Also Ivory Coast will show a big threat to Argentina and Holland.

Portugal wins it all

Final 16: Germany vs. Sweden (2:1 Germany), Argentina vs. Mexico (2:0 Argentina), Italy vs. Australia (2:0 CLOSE Italy), France vs. Tunisia (1:0 France), England vs. Ecuador (3:1 England), Portugal vs. Netherlands (2:0 Portugal), Brazil vs. Czech Republic (2:1 Brazil), Spain vs. Korea (3:0 Spain).

Quarter-Finals: Argentina 1:0 over Germany, Italy 2:1 over France, Portugal 3:2 over England (CLOSE), Brazil 3:2 OT over Spain.

Semi-finals: Italy 1:0 over Argentina, Portugal 1:0 OT over Brazil.

Final: Portugal 2:1 over Italy

As an italian fan i would be delighted to reach the final however to lose to the Portugese in the final is a real hard-hitter. Although they play good stuff i think they dont have the potential to reach the final , instead i think their neghbours Spain do, with there bright stars and well-experienced players. Brazil, although tipped for their 6th title will find it difficult to get through the quaters with their 'not so hard working' team, although going forward they can scores goals all day with their forward 4.

It should be a great WC and not too many upsets will come about IMO , let's all hope one of the few is sendin England packing.
