Each year the parade's organizers choose a theme for the marchers and puppeteers. When these creative minds find/figure out what the theme is, they go to work.

Which sounds better in the above sample to you, find or figure? If both, are they the same in meaning? Thanks.

Find.  They learn what the theme will be, and then they go and figure out what they are going to do to carry it out.
