Even though I filmed the fire 3 miles away from the fire line, I could feel the heat as if it was burning in front of me.

What's the meaning of 'fire line'?

Looks like it was a huge fire, probably in a forest... in which case "fire line" might stand for the border (edge) of the territory seized by the fire.
