Hi Saudi,

Just watching DVDs is not enough.

If you want to be a better English speaker then you need instruction from an expert.  There are many experts who teach English pronunciation.  It is also called accent reduction.  There are also a few great software programs available as well as videos.

For software just google "accent reduction software" and you will find a bunch.  Software lets you practice with a good model and you can record yourself.

For videos you can go to YouTube.com and search for "accent reduction" and you will find a bunch of free ones.

Good luck!

I think you meant the first one definitely, didn’t you?

The first one, meaning that the subtitles will be in your own language.. definitely not. Translations are more often then not horrific and terribly sub-par to say the least. Even with a "media group" translation, I find them often retarded, unfortunately. This is in Belgrade, Serbia and surely everywhere else too. Watch English movies, with English subtitles; That's the way to go.

I totally agree with hitchhiker, movies will help a lot. I would also see out people who speak English to practice with. It's good to get into forums like this where you can practice written English and communicate with others to understand what you need to improve on.

Dear Saudi,
Fine, hope the same from you, do you think you are not a good english learner, learning english is not a course of work, you will start from one point and end with another point. it will be a continuous process upto your existence in this earth, moreover how did you expressed your feelings in words is appreciatable, yes really you have superb written skills, then why don't you speak ? sure if you think you can. So keep on watching TV and listening Radio, day by day your understanding power will increase, finally you will become a great speaker. Suppose today you have learnt only one word means don't feel, take it possitively, atleast one word you learnd today, be possitive and succeed all. best wishes to you,
with regards

 Great advice! Very, VERY good!

I would just like to add that we should be careful WHAT we listen to, or watch.  We shouldn't eat bad food, and neither should we watch or listen to bad media. There is too much propaganda out there. Be careful, please. :-)
