Hi, I have two questions:
1) What does it mean to cook sth until it's fork-tender?

2) When we say that sb has high concentration of sth in one's blood central, what does blood central mean?

Thank you

Hi Antonia,

1. Sounds like it's cooked when you can easily stick a fork into it.

Not sure about the second one.

Hope it helps

I saw your post about blood central earlier on, Antonia, I tried to Google, but nothing came...
I guess it has to do with the main blood flood, but I don't have a clue as to what it means...

The similarities among the languages are more than their differences!

Ah, no, it's blood central, not central blood.
Maybe it's a central/main/basic blood analysis?
I'll check!

Could you give us more context or the rest of the sentence about "blood central"? I've never heard this phrase, it sounds very strange.

Hi,
Sorry I wasn't at home last night.
Well, here's the context:

High concentrations of hyoscyamine, atrosine and belladonnine as well as traces of scopolamine were found in her central blood and urine.

Hi Antonia,

Central blood constitutes the volume of blood in the lungs, heart, and great vessels. (This amount plus blood in small veins, venules and capillaries become total body's blood.)

Central blood stream is analogous to heavy traffic on the freeway system in a city, whereas blood stream in small veins, nenules and capillaries (tiny vessels bringing blood to/from tissues) is like traffic on smaller roads.
