Your address

July 16, 2004

Bank Manager (find out the name)
Bank Address

Dear Mr./Ms. Bank Manager:

The purpose of this letter is to inform you that I am closing my bank account(s) at this branch. My account numbers are as follows:

123456-789 (savings)
987654-321 (checking)

I have withdrawn all funds from all my accounts and have no outstanding checks.

Should you have any questions, I can be reached at my above address or by e-mail at guest@myaddress.com.

Thank you very much for your cooperation.

Yours truly,
Ms. Guest

[I don't like providing a phone number as I like to have all official bank (money) stuff in a written format. When there are problems later, I have a written record as to who said what when. You should follow up with phone call in a couple days to ensure that your letter was received and is being acted upon.]

For "your address," is a just a two line address? Like, the first line is your street address, and the next line is your city, state and zip code? I'm not sure if you include your name, phone number, or e-mail address. I'm assuming that it would be okay to include those last three things I named, but is it standard to just include the two line address?

Thanks! - Christianne

Dear Ms. Christianne Woman:

A few of points:

1) Many people don't include their name as part of their address. I do. Those that don't argue that the name is included in the signature. I still like it at the top as well.

2) Phone number and e-mail. Phone number and e-mail can be put there. Or they can be included in the letter itself. I tend to include my e-mail because often I am sending the letter by e-mail. If I am sending the letter by snail mail (stamps needed), I *might* include my e-mail at the top, or I might not. It depends on what I feel like doing. I usually put my phone number in the letter itself. Usually I have a line in the letter that says,

Should you need to contact me, you may reach by phone at (987) 123-4567 or by e-mail at MountainHiker@BigTallEverestMountain.com.

3) So your address can be whatever you like. Usually as a minimum, it contains...

1122 Boogie Boogie Avenue
Anytown, AnyState
123456

That is three lines: 1) for your street address 2) city and state/province and 3) zip/postal code.

But as you saw above, mine was 5 lines.

Hope that helps.

Good luck.

Dear Sir or Madam,'

May I know how to write the formal letter for Declaration of PR application at Singapore.

I would like to declare that this PR application does not concern my recent company in which I'm working.

Then I'll apply it only for personal needs.

If possible, I want to receive the immediate format for this letter.

Thanks.

Hi,

Just start by writing what you would say if you were talking to a bank employee face to face. Then post it here, and we will help you with it.
