Hello

I have been on EF for a bit more than half a year and, unfortunatelly, so far I have not managed to get my head around the way many questioners 'react' to posts put in to help them.
Should I put it down to our cultural differences that the above-mentioned do not deign to answer the volunteer helpers, especially if they find their reply is a bum steer.

Or is it just a sign that we are not anxious to observe the social graces anymore?
If not so much as to express their appreciation for the counsel,  they should at least communicate that they have acknowledgement of the response.

What is your opinion about this:

If you ask me, this belongs to the incredible-but-true category, and, to my great disappointment,  it is just a drop in the forums' ocean.

Why I am posting this is that I would really like to understand these people and you may be able to help me.

Thanks

This is what I have learned from several years on several forums, IK:  you will meet all kinds of people on the internet-- from different cultures, nations and ways of life. Each is an individual, with his/her own unique education, experience and attitude toward life and toward other people.  We are sometimes unimaginable worlds away from each other.

If you are willing to communicate, to offer your advice and opinions, you should also be ready to absorb whatever response comes or fails to come.  If one offends you, just walk away.  It is as simple as that.

'The question is,' said Humpty Dumpty, 'which is to be master-- that's all.'

Enough said, MM.
I look on EF as being not only a school of my English studies, but the school of hard knocks that will make a man of me one day.
Thank you.
