In Canada, I always see "free running" put on the packages for table salt. Then what's that mean? Thanks a lot.

Truths are hard to prove, rumors are easy to make.

Free-running salt contains a very small amount (usually 1%) of carbonate of magnesia, which is added to the salt to keep it from caking. It means it can be poured in a steady stream, unlike rock or sea salt.

So since it contains extra stuff, it should be regarded not so healthy as rock or sea salt?

So long as you use only as much as is needed, it is just as healthy as any other salt. Your body needs salt to function.  1`% is a minute amount and the additive is a natural mineral which in itself is required by the body.
