Hi!

I have three questions concerning this sentemce:

1) Is it Ok to say "freshly" washed away?

2)Is the bolded preposition fine= "in the sea bed"?

3) Is it Ok to say that species "originate from"?  Thank you

Freshly washed away shells of D. Panormum were found in the sea bed of the island of Rab, and the first finding of this species originates from the Velebit canal (VIDAKOVIĆ, 1982).

.
1-- I think 'newly ' is less confusing.
2-- Normally, 'on'.
3-- Normally 'in'.-- but your sentence referent is 'finding' (= discovery), not 'species', making the whole phrase inappropriate.
4-- 'Off', not 'of'

Newly washed away shells of D. Panormum were found on the sea bed off the island of Rab, and the first intact specimen of this species was discovered in the Velebit canal (VIDAKOVIĆ, 1982).

'The question is,' said Humpty Dumpty, 'which is to be master-- that's all.'
