Hello friends,
I just would like to konw the exactly mean of this ' from the ground up' in this sentence:
' He's a sissy FROM THE GROUND UP. Just like his father'

It means "thoroughly", "completely" in this context.
This is an unusual use of the expression, however -- bordering on inappropriate, really.
More typical: "We worked hard. We had to build the entire business from the ground up."
