Hello

One guy talks about a song and says: It is fun and frolics but the goal is soul. It is about sexuality and transcendence, a playful piece about wanting to get off, or in this case to literally get off the ground. I can't actually remember writing it. It was all over in minutes, which is probably not the greatest admission to make in a song about sex.

1. I suppose that fun and frolics just mean "funny, cool"?
2. "but the goal is soul" - I have no idea?
3. It seems to me that the first "get off" means "get high" "get excited" AND the second "get off" to "hover over the ground"?
4. I'm not sure what he means by saying "admission to make"?

1. I suppose that fun and frolics just mean "funny, cool"?Fun and light-hearted pleasure
2. "but the goal is soul" - I have no idea? Harder to interpret. The writer wrote this phrase because it is alliterative.
My dictionary has one definition of 'soul' as 'the emotional or spiritual quality of black American life and culture, manifested in art, music, etc'. It's a commonly intended meaning.

3. It seems to me that the first "get off" means "get high" "get excited"It also means 'achieve a sexual climax', which I think is the reference here.
AND the second "get off" to "hover over the ground"? Apparently.
4. I'm not sure what he means by saying "admission to make"? 'make an admission' = 'admit something'.

Hi Clive

So he's saying that it's better not to admit (not to reveal it) that he wrote a song about sex so quickly, within a few minutes?
