Hi guys,

I'm a Cameroonian, and needless to say I want our national football
team to get its pass to the next world cup. Nevertheless I have a good
impression of the Ivorian team, and we all respect them. We defeated them in their
facilities last week-end, sure, but we still have another forthcomingchallenge to take up, against Egypt. I'd only like to know what other soccer's passionate around the world think.

What team do you think deserves to go to germany? Why?

hi Adomi!

i'm over the moon that i recognise a compatriot here in this forum. You know i have worked in many forums but i didn't meet African nor cameroonians so excuse my happiness.first of all my first language is french but i have learned english a little bit at school so i try boosting my english on many forums. You have put the icing on the cake by posting this topic because here in cameroon the match have been already played before and many people knew that we will win the match.Meanwhile, talking to the day of the match, despite the error done by WOME NLEND i think the ivorians would not gain the courage after ACHILLE WEBO's goal really we will have been beaten them to nothing.Have you seen the strategy elaborated by Arthur georges?ETOO'o was not the real striker of the match his purpose was not to fix the defense but to let them have many attentions on him and therfore AHILLE can score many goals easily.Egypt in many years had been a hard nut to carck for us but i think we have a revenge to take so this is not hard challenge according me we will beat them at the "fandena stadium" and i'm sure the president will come to encorage the players .

see you again

Hi Mayega (Meg men yega we),

Can I be happier? I guess no! Most of the people over here aren't native English speakers, neither am I. t I ook the regular English classes we had in high school back home, and when I moved here and found this Forum, I was able to improve(I guess I did anyway). So try and look around, take part in the discussions going on. There are a lot of forums over here, each as interesting as the other. Pick a topic, express yourself, without shame or fear. You'll see, Englishforums is a very good English teacher.

That said, let's get back to our topic. I'm happy we won. But it has become a habit of ours, to be gained on the score. Remember, it happened to us during the last African Cup on Nations we won. We led NIGERIA, 2-0, and they gained  on us. We repeated the same thing against IVORY COAST. I think we should start learning how to secure our advance.

I don't think nowadays, football matches are "Played in advance", otherwise, we'd have defeated SUDAN in their facilities, and we wouldn't have "suffered" to defeat them in ours, in additional time. Dear Mayega, the ball is round. 10 years ago, the situation would have been different, and probably our team would have been qualified since the fifth day of these playoffs. But guess what? The times have changed.

Indeed, EGYPT has always been our nightmare, and the history is likely to repeat itself, that's why we should be careful. As IVORY COAST plays one day before us, I think their result should have an effect on how we are going to handle EGYPT, because we can defeat EGYPT in our hearts, words, writings and and so on. but as long as we don't defeat them on the pitch, we didn't defeat them at all.

PS. You are so lucky...your first post here and you come across a Cameroonian? OU YE MASSORA GANDACKBig Smile [:D]

hi Adomi!(nyambe nyen a om me hana)

first of all,i can not believe it very well because i have found a compatriot here in this forum so i'm so happy that i may even burst into tears.furthermore,we have the same vernacular(nyambe a sayap we).As i told you i know many forums via internet and this is one of the best where people write a lot and therfore can meet each other

Meanwhile, cameroon is one of the best teams in Africa and now one of the best in the world. The problem with us now is that we don't know how to play with fair football teams because we used now to improuve very well with some teams such as BRAZIL,FRANCE,ENGLAND...i think when playing with those teams the best way is to choose certain players who can deal very well .Concerning our last match,ARTHUR GEORGES said that if we want to take part of this world cup in germany we have to win our five  matches so ,with the new way of seeing  things EGYPT has no chance even to wound the lions of the forest. My friend there is no need to worry because as DIDIER ROUSTAN said to BASILE BOLI when ivory coast played with france :"if the lions defeated the elephants nobody can beat them for a long time "Smile [:)]

Well i'm so excited going to the stadium pushing the lions over victory.Do you think that brazil can win again this world cup in germany?

see you very soon(di lama le di yina)Big Smile [:D]

Hi Mayega,

No doubt that Cameroon is one of the best teams in Africa, and I do agree with you that we should play all our matches with the same gusto, no matter what the opponent is. You made a good point by mentionning that we're more serious when we play teams with  big potential, and big names. Are you surprised when other teams(less ranked than ours, according to the FIFA) do the same when they play with us? It's easy to get to the summit, but difficult to maintain oneself there. A football team  comprises eleven players, and they are chosen with respect to their performance. But whatever the players, and whatever the coach's words, if a certain spirit isn't maintained, then we can't expect good result. Nevertheless, those words of Mr Arthur Jeorge warm my heart, and  tell the spirit he intends to create within the group. However, whatever people's comments. at the end of the 90 minutes, only the final score counts.

You are so lucky to have the opportunity to go and spur on the Lions. I'll have to watch it on TV...again, but that's ot that bad, because we always create the Cameroonian atmosphere you probably know, to feel home.

I'll give you my answer to that question the 10th October, with the will of God.

Mayega, yag me men yaga ni.

Just to ask you how are the Lions doing? I heard there was a clash between supporters and the police forces yesterday. What was the origin of that incident?

Man you are so lucky you are going to live that match, and spur on the lions. For me as usual, I'll pray to come across a channel that will broadcast the encounter.

See you after the match then.

hi ADOMI!!!

first of all i apologize to do not reply very earlier because i'm so sad that maybe i could even die but notwithstanding our nil match against Egypt sat that we didn't qualify for the world cup but my complacency is bid in the way that we are going to manage very well for the futher encounters .i'm so sure that you can imagine the big disappoinment in the country.Well i'm going to tell you what really happen at the end of the match. So,when we gained our penalty shoot- out according to WOME NLEND even ETo nor SONG didn't want to take their reponsibilities so that's why he decided kick in the ball .In addition we had played honestly only one part of the play so today i remembered what you have told me according to the Egyptian tem i knew that they used to beat us regularly so they are a big piece of cake to us i can not forget that day the whole of my life subsequently let me remind or tell you that at the end of the match all the supporters were inside the stadium even at 22h so the lions left with the help of the armed forces what we deplored was the mood that our supporters had against wome's family because this is not a good way of doing things if we remembered the last penaltyshoot-out by wome nlend at the final of the olympic games we won the match and everybody was happy

please my friend i stop here because i'm so sad........Wink [;)]Crying [:'(]

see you after

Hi Mayega,

Encounters are never the same, and I, particularly, do not blame WOME that much. It's true he missed the penalty kick, but about what happened on the peach, neither of us can be sure. I know one think though. WOME took the ball from WEBO's hand, who was drinking water near the touch line. WOME wasn't even near to the place where the action that led to the penalty took place. He came all the way from the back side, grabbed the ball from WEBO, shot and missed. Let it be bygone.

I blame the whole team, my dear, specially for their performance during the second half. They didn't  put up the same spirit they put during the first half. People like Eto'o are among the guys that let us down. They think because the are performing at home they can do their one man show? Now look, all the other famous African strikers, brought their team to the World cup. What about Eto'o? I'm not a good Historian and no offense mean, I think we have in Eto'o the worst  striker our national team has ever had, and the most improductive. I have nothing against the guy, but this is just a fact. He needs to grow up a little more.

We designed our defeat from the matches against Sudan and Lybia. These are matches we shouldn't have made a draw in. But we were overconfident with ourselves, as we were during the second half of our last match. I believe Ivoiry-Coast deserve to get through. They showed they want to attend the World Cup, and though we defeated them, in their premises, they gave us tough time. They earned their passage.

As regards to what supporters did to WOME's family and belongings, well, this isn't the first incident of the sort to happen to a football player. Do you remember Escobar, the colombian player who was killed?. To tell you the truth, I was expecting that kind of reaction from our supporters. For all, WOME is the ione that prevented us from getting through to the World Cup. The image of him missing the penalty kick will always remain, and whatever good he's done for Cameroon, will never be remembered. As a matter of fact,  Olympic games are not World Cup, my dear Mayega. It's true a football player can miss a penalty kick, but I believe WOME was in no shape of taking that kick, because he did a very low performance during the overall last three matches we had(Benin,Ivory-Coast, Egypt). SONG, was shouting at him all through the second half, and was doing all his job, because the guy wasn't focus. When he took the ball, I knew he'll miss, believe me.

Let's weep silently, and let the bygones be  bygones

Hi all,

We all know them now, the five teams that are going to represent the African continent during the next Football World Cup in Germany. They are:

- Togo

-Angola

-Ghana

-Ivory Coast

-Tunisia.

What do you think are their chances, knowing this is the first time they happen to attend the biggest football competition.in the world? Would you have prefered to have the "usual" candidates (Cameroon, Nigeria,Senegal,South Africa)? Fifa has threatened to lessen the number of African teams to the world cup. The challenge is threrefore twofold for these teams: Go as far as possible(beyond the quarter finals), to maintain the African position, and....to win the trophee. Which one of the above do you think is possible? By what team? We sadly remember what low performance the "Leopoard du Zaire" displayed during the 1982 session. Yet they were the African champions that year. Do you think the history will repeat itself?
