Michael Knight talks to his car KITT on "Knight Rider":

"I don't want to hear another peep out
of you until I can get a call off to Devon."

What's the underlined part mean?

I guess it is the same as "until I can get a call to Devon", i.e. "until I can be connected/get through to Devon".
