Hi,

deal with, get through

1. I don't know how I ____________ the first couple of months after Andy's death.

2. There are ways of ____________ stress.

In my opinion,

A. 1. got through    2. dealing with

is correct but would this be wrong?

B. 1. dealt with       2. getting through

Which one would you choose, A or B?    A. We don't usually speak of 'getting through' stress.

Best wishes, Clive

The original examples are right. I don't think you can talk about dealing with a period. As for stress, you can get over it, not through it.

PS Clive got in while I was still writing!
