Hi people!

Is the use of "myself" correct in this sentence?:

"I can send somebody to get it for me, but I'd rather go there myself".

In this case, what type of word is "myself" and what is its function? Would it be just as fine to say "I'd rather go myself"?

Thanks a lot!

Mara.

The use of "myself" is correct in your sentence, yes.  It's a reflexive pronoun.
Yes, you can leave out the word "there" if you wish.
