You may say, "I'm good to go," when you are ready to go. Would you use this construction "be good to" with "good" meaning ready with verbs other than "go"?

Hi,

I can't think of an example of such a use. Good to go is a fixed expression, which I believe originated with the NASA flight control people, who used it to mean the rocket was ready to launch.

Do you know the expression hot to trot, which is somewhat similar?

Hi, Clive.

Nope, I didn't know the expression. Do you say, "I'm hot to trot," meaning you are ready to do something?

Hi,

Do you say, "I'm hot to trot," meaning you are ready to do something? It's not really something I think that young people would say much. Nor do I say it very often. On the other hand, google returns a reasonable number of hits. It's something one tends to say of a third person, rather than oneself.

I'd guess that it comes from the world of racing horses (trotting). I think it may also have a vaguely sexual connotation (hot), at least in certain contexts.

Best wishes, Clive

Great, Clive. Thanks. As always your explanation is lucid. Thanks!
