There's gotta be something wrong with him.

1. What is the "'s" immediately following "there?"

2. gotta = have to, or have got to? = must?

3. how to pronounce "gotta?"

Thanks a lot.

Hi,

There's gotta be something wrong with him.

1. What is the "'s" immediately following "there?" short for 'has'.

2. gotta = have to, or have got to? = must? gotta = got to.

3. how to pronounce "gotta?" More or less as you have written, although it sometimes sounds like 'godda'.

Best wishes, Clive

1) Then what does it mean by "got to?"

2) I mean the American pronunciation. So it should pronounce as gotten with silent "n"?

BTW, Clive, have you changed your icon? It looks great!

Truths are hard to prove, rumors are easy to make.

got to = has got to = has to (or 'have' instead of 'has')
