The internet provides video conferencing services.

(A 'sea change' is a change of major proportions, Pieanne.)

Hi gyus.
The internet influences the way people communicate
I am wondering if it oculd be paraphrased into:
'The has influence on the way people communicate'
And we don't need an article after 'has' right?
Thanks

'The internet has influence on the way people communicate.'
You could indeed (though it is not as direct), Mav, and no article before 'influence'.

Hello Pieanne
This time I think I may legitimately quote some lines:
'Full fathom five thy father lies,
Of his bones are coral made,
Those are pearls that were his eyes:
Nothing of him that doth fade
But doth suffer a
sea-change
Into something rich and strange.'
From The Tempest: Ariel is describing the changes to the body of Ferdinand's father, which is lying under the sea.
