My grammar checker is killing me with this simple sentence! Can someone tell me if the checker or I am right?

Here's the sentence:

"I will forward the details of this issue to our inventory team who have been working to resolve this issue."

The computer flags have prompting that it should be has. But team  is plural so then I should use have, correct?

Thanks.

Your sentence is correct.

In American English it is common to refer to a group in the singular, the government is, while in British English the same group will be considered plural. It makes sense. One group many people.

You can do an exercise to see more examples of the differences between British and American English here:http://www.myprofe.com/whichword-2/AmerBrit.htm
