I didn't actually guess it, did I?  However, based on Barb's excellent questioning, I did have a sneaking suspicion that the mystery word might be unicycle. Smile [:)]

OK, here's a new 10-letter word:
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Yes, it is used primarily as a noun, but can also be used as a verb.

As a noun: is it a living thing? or is it inanimate?
As a verb: is it irregular?

As a noun: is it a living thing?   No  or is it inanimate?  It's an object.
As a verb: is it irregular?  No

Is this object found in most homes? In schools? In offices? Outside?

Can you carry it?
Do you own (at least) one?
Is it a compound word?

I'd say you'd be able to find one of these in or near many homes and/or schools.  It is much less likely that you'd find one in or near an office, I suppose.  Yes, outside is a good place to see one of these.

No, I don't have one of my own, but some of the people in my family do.
