Hi,

Is it correct to say: "The caller hung up"

Thanks

Yes.  Yes.

The house stunk is an alternate possibility, preferred by many.

Does stunk here mean stink in past tense? Or it has another meaning?

His feet stink.
His feet stunk. (past tense)

Yes. Both "stank" and "stunk" are past tense for "stink."
