Hello everybody,

Could you help me with this:

He hauled himself over the wall, grunting with the effort.            What do they mean "over the wall"  ? Is it near the wall?

I just don't understand the action.

Thanks in advance Smile [:)]

He climbed over the wall. 'Hauled himself' implies a great deal of effort was required (confirmed by the grunting Smile [:)] ).

He started at the bottom on one side, pulled himself up to the top, crossed the top and let himself down on the other side.
