In the office at the moment there is a debate going on about the correct use of have vs. has in a particular sentence. The sentence is:
All of the above marking criteria (have/has) been met.
Can anyone tell us which is the correct term and why?
Hi,
Can anyone tell us which is the correct term and why? Criteria is a plural word (singular = criterion), so say 'have'.
After all, you wouldn't say 'All of the students has arrived'.
Best wishes, Clive
