Can anyone please tell me whether 'he' or 'him' is the correct pronoun to use in the following? Thanks very much.

Items available for bid include theater tickets, tickets to sporting events, golf outings and a dinner party at the home of XYZ Corp. Chairman and CEO John Doe, hosted by he and his wife Jane.

Hi, Jss, welcome to the English Forums!

It's "him"; "by" is a preposition and can't take the subject form of the pronoun. Could be "by himself" though...
