Hi guys,

I have just very short question. What kind of sortiment you can buy in the Health food store in the US? I wanna know, is it possible to buy there pharmaceuticals? Or are these kind of shops designated only for the health and diet food?

thank you guys in advance!

Best Regards

To answer that, I need to know what you mean by "pharaceuticals."  Prescription drugs? Medications you can be without a prescription? Herbs and supplements? Vitamins?

(Please don't write "I wanna."  We do say it that way, but please, in an English forum, write "I want to" or "I would like to.")

Barbara, who answers in American English. My housekeeping skills attest to the truth of the second law of thermodynamics: Left to themselves, things get more and more random!

At a "health food store". You won't find prescription drugs. Just vitamins and herbs. (Maybe some cold and flu remedies like NyQuil.)

For pharmaceuticals, one would go to a pharmacy, or a drug store.

Actually, I can't point to very many large grocery stores that don't have a pharmacy now.

But I don't think that trend has made it to Whole Foods, and I know it hasn't at the local Trader Joe's.
