Hello,

1. Come here, don't go there. I hear a car.

What is the meaning of the sentence "I hear a car"

Does it mean  "a car is coming"

Hi,

What is the meaning of the sentence "I hear a car"

Does it mean  "a car is coming" The literal words just mean you can hear the sound, but they suggest that the speaker is saying them because a car is coming, eg there may be some danger that the car  may hit you if you don't 'come here'.

Best wishes, Clive
