She (or he) is not her normal self, there must be something worrying/eating at her - very informal.

"Help" seems not to have such kind of usage.

you can say "help me with this" but not "help me this".

Also the article should be minded.

I would like to rewrite your title to "help me with an idiom", do you agree with me?

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

what does mean:

   "talk to the hand"

Picture this. You are talking to someone. They show you that they do not want to listen to you, by holding up their hand so that you can not see their face while you are talking.

Someone did this to me the other day, for the first time. It's very rude, of course. It was surprisingly annoying.

Instead of actually doing the gesture, people sometimes say these words.

You can read more about this at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk_to_the_hand

Best wishes, Clive
