I have a medical document to translate from english into my language. I am a final year student of pharmacy so i know many medical terms but not all. In the document there are some terms i have tried my best to understand, have even read related documents in my language but still can't guess their meanings. That is why i need your help. I will quote the whole passage and underline the phrase i don't understand below:
" The nerve - or wire - does not directly connect with the muscle. It stops a short distance before the point of contact. At the junction, a series of chemicals is released, including acetylcholine, that causes the muscle to contract. When the nerve wants to tell the muscle that it is time to get to work, the bulb at the nerve ending gives the muscle a quick shot of acetylcholine, as a sort of neuromuscular wake-up call. Whenever the proper amount of acetylcholine is delivered to the muscle tissue, it responds with baseline muscle tone or movement."
Thank you in advance!
