When I'm trying to say some sings bad what should I say "badly" or "bad"
EX: Ashlee Simpson sings really _______.
Someone told me it's "badly".

When you modify a verb like "sings", you use the adverb form of bad: badly. Most adverbs end in "ly".

verses This place smells badly.


and smell is a verb.
