Later on the manager decides it was too much to charge them so he takes 5 pounds out of the 30. But then he decides that since you can't split 5 pounds evenly between 3 people, he takes 2 pounds out and puts it back in his pocket and gives each man a pound back. So now each man has actually only paid 9 pounds each. so, 9 times 3 equals 27 27 plus the 2 pounds in the managers pocket, is only 29. where did the other pound go???
