It is clear from this review that nutraceutical advertisements published in nursing journals often provide ambiguous scientific information. This suggests that nutraceutical advertisements are poor source of scientific information for nurses. The current capability of the nutraceutical industry to provide this information is worrying. Therefore there is an urgent need for governments especially in developing countries to develop programs to ensure that independent scientific information are continuously available and easily accessible nurses.
