Which of these sentences are correct, and why?

1. The first time James visited, he was bored.

2. James visited the first time was bored.

3. The first of James' visits was bored.

4. James' first time visit was bored.

5. That James visited the first time was bored.

Is there any other way to say this?

What's the grammar problem with each sentence?

Wrong ones:

#2 is not a good sentence: it has two finite verbs
#3 should read boring
#4 should read boring and first-time should be hyphenated
#5 is not a complete sentence; it is not even a workable clause, because it has two finite verbs.

Some would demand an -s on JamesJames's.
